Back in the field - new stories from Indie Farmer
Apologies for the long radio silence — it’s been a busy couple of years, but Indie Farmer is very much alive and kicking.
Over the past 12 months, I’ve been out on farms, interviewing farmers and land managers and building a new body of work - including a series of short films and long-form features, many of which have been produced as part of my Lund Fund Fellowship, Roots of Regeneration.
I’ll be sharing more of these stories over the coming months, alongside some of the behind-the-scenes work involved in building Indie Farmer, and life on our own small family farm in East Sussex.
If you’re still reading - thank you for sticking around.

A couple of recent pieces you might have missed:
Pasture & Profit — Learning from the Land, and Each Other
A look at how farmers are coming together through local networks to share knowledge, adapt grazing systems, and respond to increasingly unpredictable conditions.

Cockhaise Farm — Organic Dairy in the High Weald
A short film and feature exploring the day-to-day rhythm of an organic dairy farm — and the decisions that sit behind it, from grazing and forage to milk price and long-term resilience.
From the Farm
Alongside the stories, we’ve also added a From the Farm section - sharing what we produce here at home, from our own pasture-raised beef and lamb and award-winning cheese (Pevensey Blue), made by my sister and brother-in-law.
Our next meat and cheese farm gate sale will be on Saturday 16th May at Hockham Farm (10am to 1pm), with fresh beef boxes and individual cuts available to pre-order or pick up on the day.
